Green Hills Corporate Center hired SNS Architects & Engineers, PC to build a 500,000 SF office park as well as a 135,000 SF Class A signature office that may be occupied by two or more tenants.
SNS designed a 4-story pyramidal atrium with natural daylight and openness providing flexibility, material integrity, and space quality. The atrium is in a central location through the three-story wings, vertically offset by a level, allowing the user to make the most use of the office space.
During the design and construction phases, the most recent energy-saving technologies and cost-effective mechanical systems were used, providing the workers with a high level of comfort in all seasons. Pre-cast concrete panels with pink granite and exposed aggregate finish make up the exterior. When seen against the backdrop of existing trees and rich flora, this, together with the rose color of the glass, gives the structure a particular character.
The structural system was created with the economy in mind, utilizing lightweight concrete slabs atop a metal deck for ease of use and flexibility. The mainframe is made of rolled high-strength steel to provide the shortest possible floor-to-floor height.
