Year Completed
2007
The renovation of the new executive wing for the headquarters of Hudson City Savings Bank consisted of completely gutting 8,800 SF of the fourth floor and creating new executive offices, an executive dining room, a boardroom, and a divisible training room with full audio-visual capabilities, toilet rooms, a pantry, and administrative areas as well as a new reception area for the entire floor.
SNS Architects & Engineers, PC designed all of the millwork which included very detailed, high-end, full-height wood veneered panels, wainscot panels, custom solid wood crown moldings and chair rails, built-in credenzas, administrative desks, and AV walls. In addition to the millwork, SNS was responsible for selecting and designing the custom boardroom table and executive desks. The selection of all of the finishes, furniture, fabrics, and custom rugs became an extension of the overall design and vision.
Audio-visual technology and multi-media presentations were key to the success of the executive suite. ‘Plug and Play’ technology and recessed flat screens were incorporated into all of the major pieces of furniture and built-ins.
The use of soft fabrics and elaborate window treatments along with leather and fabric-wrapped wall panels, stepped gypsum board ceilings with recessed lighting, and wall sconces, all contribute to the elegance – the “WOW factor” – of the space that the client was looking for in this Fortune 500 Company.
